Problem

I selected 256 files, clicked Delete, and waited 40 seconds before the confirmation prompt showed up.
Then once I clicked to confirm deletion, its deletion rate was less than 2 files per second.
From first pushing delete, to the 256 selected files being deleted, it took over 3 minutes.
That comes out to almost one second per file.

Expected behavior

I would expect file deletion to be more than twice as fast.
Maybe 5 files per second would be acceptable?

How to reproduce

Create a hundred small text files using copy / paste, and then delete them in Windows File Explorer.
