How to display the legend outside the plot area?

I'm working with ScottPlot5 in WPF and have been trying to move the legend outside of the plotting area.

In 2021, someone asked a similar question:

Scott gave a nice example of how to achieve this, however I believe the RenderLegend() method is no longer there.

I looking for the same: ScottPlot 5 / WPF and the option to position the legend outside of the plotting area.

Instead of RenderLegend there is a Legend.Render(RenderPack rp) in ScottPlot 5, but I'm not sure how this RenderPack works yet.

Thanks for this question! I'll create a new issue to track documenting this in the demo app. Short answer is I think you can do something like formsPlot1.Plot.GetLegendBitmap() to get a special object that you can get the bytes for a bitmap from, then use that to create a Bitmap to display in your GUI application. #3672
