I have ported several maps from BF2 which have funky water settings. In some cases, this actually crashes the game executable if you try to launch maps such as Naboo: Sewers with Medium or High water quality. The reason why is unknown but probably something to do with TER (terrain file) conversions being not fully cross-compatible. SpTest BFront.log won't tell you this either, I discovered it through trial and error. For this reason, we recommend using LOW water quality by default. High quality water looks much better on some maps, such as Dabogah: Swamp, and can be enabled for those, but is unstable on other maps (and lowers frame rate) and should be adjusted as needed in the shell menu.
