Exactly the same issue here as @Imeda above.
In my case, the problem only occurs with SyncMyL2P-2.4.2-linux.AppImage.
With SyncMyL2P-2.4.1-linux.AppImage, it works fine (the Login, that is).

I am facing the same issue. It seems to be the same issue like #163.

I also built it, but in lack of a proper client ID, it failed to connect after starting the Sync-my-L2P binary.

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=20.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=focal
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS"

openssl version: OpenSSL 1.1.1f 31 Mar 2020
Qt version: 5.12.8

Also tried it on Ubuntu 18.04 and it worked:
openssl version: OpenSSL 1.1.1 11 Sep 2018

It would be helpful, if I knew where to get a proper client ID.

I face the same problem. Neither 2.4.1 nor 2.4.2 works (AppImage). Running the windows version in wine also does not work. Only the L2P is reachable and shows up. Later semesters on moodle do not. There is a 'bad gateway' error in the log.

there is a new release available in the the forked repository, which is working on ubuntu for me.

https://github.com/rwthmoodle/Sync-my-L2P/releases/tag/v2.4.4

Thanks for the pointer to the rwthmoodle fork @lmarschall ! With these newer releases (2.4.4+), the issue has been resolved for me.
