FanControl.exe tried to prevent shutdown (SENS service hanging) #2489
Comments
??? |
If FanControl would prevent shutdown, it would have a popup in the app telling you to save your config or something. Otherwise it is something else. |
But as you can see it was logged to the event system (point 1 ) |
It's pretty clear that FanControl is involved in that. Because when I exit FanControl right before shutdown, SENS service is not hanging and my PC shutsdown within 10s. When I don't quit FanControl the shutdown takes about 5min or never happens and I have to force shut it down. So if you need any logs or so I'm happy to help. |
TBH I have no idea what's going on here. |
When I find time I will try to find some more detailed log in Windows. |
Hi :)
Since about 3 days I have the problem that the SENS (system event notification service) service is preventing my PC from shutting down.
So I had a look in my event view and found this in chronological order:
Following application tried to prevent shutdown: FanControl.exe
about 1min later:
2.
The login notification subscriber needs some time to process this notification event (Logoff)."
about 2min later:
3.
"Timeout for the COM+ Event System attempting to trigger the Logoff method for event class "{D5978630-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E}" for the publisher and subscriber. The subscriber did not respond within 180 seconds. The display name of the subscription is "Explorer". The HRESULT was 80010002."

I'm not sure if FanControl is the problem or something else.
