You could use a standalone proxy like https://github.com/ViaVersion/ViaProxy to allow a 1.20.4 bot to join a alpha 1.2.6 server.

I tried it and it didn't work, even though im able to join the server using alpha 1.2.6, when I tried to start the bot and gave it the ip viaproxy gave me, I got some errors in the terminal I was using to run the js file saying it timed out

and also is there a way to make the bot connect to a alpha 1.2.6 server without viaproxy so I can run the bot 24/7 on heroku
