Is there a way to avoid this, other than changing Steam friends status (e.g. to "invisible") ?

If not, could this be changed in a future version of the SteamServerBrowser ?

Edit: A work-around is to start the SteamServerBrowser before Steam.

Found a fix for this issue. Change the Steam App ID to 0 in "steam_appid.txt", save, and then make the file read-only.

In Windows Explorer right click on the file, select properties, activate "write protected".

Leaving this open for now since it's not fixed in the release.
