Jumping seems way too abrupt - it appears to just set my position up a couple of blocks. Why not either:
Use multi-threading to, over a few frames, move me up a bit
or even better:
Use velocity to push me up
Additionally, if you're underneath a block and jump, you soar up to the top of the screen. I assume this is a side effect of your method of simply setting my position when I jump.
Other than that, not a bad game - only decent one I've seen on pygame for a while
