This repository has been archived by the owner on Sep 4, 2018. It is now read-only.
At present some of the copy used in the website, newsletters, mentor request form, repository READMEs, Slack bot welcome messages, etc. make use of the term 'software development', which sounds slightly exclusive to the domain of developers. It has been reported that some people (who aren't specifically interested in coding/programming as such but have other tech careers in mind) are confused during the sign-up process itself, as to whether this program really meets/caters to their needs. E.g. if they were joining Microsoft's online communities, they would probably join TechNet instead of MSDN. Let's make changes so that people looking at different tech careers can feel equally welcome here.
