C_Login failed: rv = CKR_USER_PIN_NOT_INITIALIZED (0x102)

Hi all and thanks for your hard work!

I have at hand an Italian CNS smartcard released by Camera di Commercio few days ago,
issue is browsers do not ask for PIN, instead display error ERR_BAD_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT.

pkcs11-tool --login --test
ends with error
PKCS11 function C_Login failed: rv = CKR_USER_PIN_NOT_INITIALIZED (0x102)

PIN obviously is set, in fact no issues at all when signing documents.

Currently no issues with same USB Token but different smartcards.

OpenSC 0.24 installed on MacOS Sonoma 14.3 - Apple Chip M2.

Proposed Resolution
