In an enumeration type, the enum literals are its members, each with an associated value. However, MemberDescriptor doesn't have a field to capture this value.
Similarly, in a bitmask type, each bitflag at a given position is a member of the bitmask. However, MemberDescriptor doesn't capture the bit position information.
Until the XTypes spec addresses this, OpenDDS stores the enum literal value and the bitflag position in the id field of the corresponding MemberDescriptor object.
