The discussion about deactivating the side effects of granting tokens, namely passive participation in crowdsales, was discussed in OmniLayer/spec#313.

To quote:

@zathras-crypto: I've run through a full parse with some extra code to look for crowdsale participation from a grant and I can't see any, so I'm fairly confident no grants have ever triggered crowdsale participation to date.

We could handle the crowdsale participation deactivation similar to a feature activation, and if there is no attempt to participate in a crowdsale while granting tokens, we could remove that part of the logic completely, once the deactivation is through.
