https://github.com/OmniLayer/omnicore/releases/tag/v0.12.0 says,

This release is mandatory and changes the rules of the Omni Layer protocol. An upgrade is required.

However, it's also marked as a Pre-release, there are no binaries attached to the github release, https://www.omnilayer.org/download.html only links 0.11.0 binaries, and https://twitter.com/omni_layer says nothing about it that I can see (which I checked after seeing #1236).

Is this a real update, and if so when do we need to be updated by and will there be a normal release for it?

Hey @briancolecoinmetrics,

the 0.12 release includes new features like send-to-many. Once this feature is activated, old versions are no longer compatible.

Right now, the new release is under review and the feature hasn't been activated. Once this is the case, blog posts and more official news will follow.
