Excel: Autofill in Drop-Downs

Many drop-down lists have a huge number of items to scroll through to find the right term to select. From what I've read, we could solve this with combo boxes and VBA. I've found instructions on how to make that work (http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal10.html) but it has caveats, like not working on Macs or and maybe some of the issues with clearing the undo log as I mentioned in (#18)
