Getting started

Can anybody provide a simple getting started example? I'm fairly new to JS and I can't even get the most basic example to run. I installed jira.js with npm but when I put

import { Version3Client } from './node_modules/jira.js';

const client = new Version3Client({
  host: 'https://your-domain.atlassian.net',
  authentication: {
    basic: {
      email: 'mail@mail.com',
      apiToken: 'xxx',
    },
  },
});

I get all sorts of errors depending on what I try (Uncaught TypeError: Failed to resolve module specifier "jira.js", etc.).

It would be amazing for beginners to have a point to start with, without having to battle all of the quite confusing JS paradigms of how to import, require and so on. To be honest the Examples also don't help me.

I did, there are other problems that occurr (ts-node not found for example). I really confused on how to use this. I don't understand how import { Version3Client } from 'jira.js'; is supposed to work, because I can't find any jira.js file. Also I'm confused on how to use all these typescript files.

Isn't there a simple example that I can copy into my index.js and run in my browser with a live-server?
All I want to do is see if I can get one issue from our server.

I haven't example for browser. Do you use npm i in example folder?

First of all, thanks for your time trying to help me.
So seems like I was in the root directory when I hit npm i before. Now I did it in the example folder and the basic example did something, but resulted in certificate error.
Anyway, I have no idea how this works and how I would incorporate this into my own code. I wanted to have a simple snippet of code in my index.js that I have in my index.html, which I launch with live-server in VS Code that downloads an issue from an existing issue on our Jira. Seems like this is to adavanced for me. Thanks anyway.

jira.js not ready to integrate to browsers from the "box". Looks like you need firstly build it with webpack. It's a little bit difficulty that just integrate script to the html
