Lazy loading images, and/or post_content on live site is unreliable

When we have this enabled on the live site, there are frequent page loads where none of the images load. I would like to compare with Jetpack lazy loading and see if that happens there as well. Assuming it doesn't, maybe we should remove that feature from this plugin and let it focus on lazy loading JavaScript content, iframes, etc? And/or adopt the methods Jetpack uses for transforming images/post content.
