Since the same project/code should support different small single-board computers in the future, such as RedPitaya, Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bone Black. We should change its name

Some ideas are:

  • Action Table Manager
  • Action Table Executor
  • Action Table Runner
  • Device Timing Device
  • Device Triggering Device
  • Microscope Timing Device
  • Signal Traffic Controller

Whilst this is true, you probably meant to post this on MicronOxford/RedPitaya-DSP! There is a discussion on #4 wrt project history and naming

I like the DTD where the first D can stand for both Device and DTD, making it not only a recursive acronym but also suggesting that it enables chaining this triggering devices. Also, the T can stand for both timing and triggering.

I'm not a fan of having 'Signal Traffic' on the name because it might scare those not doing traffic control. I'm ok with microscope on the name but if we omit, maybe it could attract those that need the same for non-microscope experiments.
