Description

I very much appreciate the Liveries Mega Pack Manager. However, I am disappointed to see that the program does not allow the user to select a different folder than the community folder for the installation of liveries.

For me and other people that likes to organize their addons in a separate folder, and place shortcuts in the community folder instead, the lack of an option to choose our own folder, makes the program problematic to use.

I understand the feature to block users from choosing a wrong folder that may make the liveries not be recognized by the simulator correctly is a smart idea, but not so smart for the users that organize the folders differently.

Solution

Provide the possibility to select a different folder. Perhaps still display a warning that this is not the community folder and maybe also a prompt to confirm you want to install the liveries in a separate spot.

Why is this the best solution?

This enables everyone to download the liveries in a customized fashion if it is desired, and mitigates the problem I and possibly others are facing.

If you really know what you're doing, you can head to your local appdata and modify the JSON config under "liveries mega pack manager" to change your path.

We're looking into this for the next major release.

Thank you! I previously circumvented this issue by just naming a folder "Community" where i wanted the liveries to go, but I will try your suggestion. But will the .json file be overwritten whenever the manager updates?
