I'd like to recommend that some additional documentation be added to the EXF documentation (section 8.4.7). Specifically, I'd like to add some details on how the binary forcing files should be prepared. At present, there is some documentation on the binary input for MITgcm (section 3.9), but this does not cover input fields that vary in time such as those for EXF.
At present, you can find some info in the support threads:
But it would be great to have information about how to handle the time dimension in the main documentation as well. I would be happy to draft something up for review - let me know what you think.
