Luce Carter Logo

Hi there, I'm Luce (she/her) πŸ‘‹

This is the GitHub repo of a hobby coder. Here you will find code related to projects, languages and technologies I am passionate about, from my Xamarin.Forms + Cognitive Services helper app EmotiPal to silly projects I have worked on during and for my Twitch Stream such as the BattleBot written with C# and SignalR.

If React/Javascript is more your thing, you can even check out my first attempt at a chatbot, BattlegroundBot.

You may be wondering why there are swords in my logo and why my bots have a mention of battle or battlegrounds..

Imposter Syndrome Battleground

Imposter Syndrome Battleground is the nickname for my Twitch stream, as well as the attitude/culture I try to create.

Software development saved my life when I was a teenager by introducing me to my first proper, real-life friends. But it means over the years, both at uni and then later working as a developer, I have struggled for confidence and Imposter Syndrome has bitten hard. In my work life, it has led me to working as a tester, allowing me a break from the pressure of full-time coding but also allowing me to pursue a passion for the end user experience and automation.

I stream on Twitch, write on my blog and public speak in the hopes of being open about the struggles but also showing that we are always all learning, nobody knows everything and it's OK to not always know the answers, it doesn't make you a fraud!
