Handle messages beyond a lowered message limit #2

Reducing the message limit to a number below the messages already in the queue will have an unpredictable effect. Automate this in a future release.

Workaround: delete messages manually, because the marquee will always show all messages in the queue, not just how many messages it is limited to.
