Maybe TextSecure whould even be a default messaging app? Anyway, it does not integrate correctly with Fairphone dual sim (signalapp/Signal-Android#555). Is there any specification/documentation for dual-sim API provided by Fairphone so that other software could use it?

Same problem here, would love to use Textsecure with the Fairphone, but understand it may not be easy. For me app crashes on launch "Unfortunately,TextSecure has stopped."
Update: reinstalling the app made it work now. Haven't tried with a second Sim though.
Textsecure (now named Signal), seems to provide dual sim functionality since the latest commit. Want to reconsider now to integrate it as the default messaging app? Would be great I think, as Signal seems to have promising future also as secure messenger.
signalapp/Signal-Android#555 was resolved and TextSecure/Signal now has dual-sim support. Sadly, it uses only official API which is available from 5.1 on.
Is there any specification on how dual-SIM API looks like on Fairphone 1? If it is, we could make support for it maybe into the TextSecure/Signal as well.
