What about a release on FOSS app store F-Droid?

That is a very good idea. We will take a look at this to see if it is feasible to include it in the current Fairphone OS or the next one.

Nice! And the other way round? Fairphone OS apps (e. g. the launcher) on F-Droid?

Definitely +1 to include F-Droid in the next FFOS version.

+1 to include these widgets and apps as separate apps that can be found (and installed) in F-Droid as well as Google Play.

PS: by the way @xxl4232 you always have this fork from @mudar : https://github.com/mudar/Fairphone

+1, also for including the Guardian Project's repo: https://guardianproject.info/apps/

+1 to include F-Droid on the Fairphone.

However, it should be possible to uninstall any of the additional apps. That goes for FixIt, F-Droid, GuardianProject, FileManager, NoteBook, ToDo, etc. No need to overload the phone with system apps.

@mudar I'm sure you know this, but in case anyone reading this doesn't: Uninstalling the bundled apps is possible with the F-Droid apps:

  1. oandbackup. One has to long-press on the app's entry to get the uninstall option.
  2. If one still refuses to be uninstall, /system/app mover helps out by turning specially protected system apps into regular user apps. Repeat step 1.
Both on your own risk, but I have not had any problems so far. Cheers!

I also really like to see the fairphone Apps on F-Droid (I would like to use them, but I cannot get them without a Play Account)
