Low performance out of nowhere

Hi!
I´ve been running Iris shaders with sodium just fine since 1.19 and they have also been working for the 1.20.2 release for me until now. When I open Minecraft, already the menu is really laggy and ingame i get 10-15 fps, even without active shaders. Running the unmodded release fixes the issue.
I´ve checked that the game is running on the correct GPU, which it is and it even runs on 100% GPU utilization.
Is this a known issue for anyone else? I´ve read about potential mem leaks, which should have been fixed a while ago.
Since the issue occurred I´ve reinstalled the fabric mod loader, forge api, sodium and iris. Funnily enough, after opnening minecraft a few times, one time it ran really well again but now I get low performance again.
I run a GTX 1080 with the latest drivers. I have tried revierting the driver update but that did not fix the issue.
Any help would be much appreciated, I love the high performance with shaders I get with Iris!

Ok I did a complete clean reinstall of minecraft including the launcher and reinstalled all the mods. This fixed the problem for now! I know this is an obvious answer but I just didn´t think of doing it. So if anyone has the same problem, I´d suggest doing the same!

Update 2: It broke again 😢
Once again, removing sodium and iris from the mods folder resolves the problem and reverts the performance to normal vanilla levels. But I really like the performance uplift so I hope someone can help me! I´ve now found out that if i delete sodium and iris from the mods folder, start Minecraft, close it, place the mods inside the folders again and then start up MC, it works fine for that session but that session only.

Ok I have it figured out now, the problem was with Sodium after all. It has something to do with the thread optimization being forced with newer NVIDIA drivers which cause the bad performance. Switching to the PrismLauncher allows to circumvent these optimizations and has worked for me now.
