VVC statistic

Hi Christian,
Is there any plan to add statistic for VVC? Say to dump the statistic information from VTM/VVDEC and fill it into the player.

Yep this is a really cool idea. The interface to the decoder libraries is very well defined I would say. The main work would be to output the statistics from vvdec somehow. That would be a cool project but unfortunately I will not have time for this in the near future.

Not sure what kind of statistics you mean. If what you want is displaying chosen modes for specific CTUs/CUs this may help https://jvet-experts.org/doc_end_user/documents/11_Ljubljana/wg11/JVET-K0149-v1.zip

Hi Johannes, Thanks, it is just something I am looking for. BTW, it is mentioned that https://github.com/IENT/YUView/tree/vtmbms_statistics is a YUView branch with VVC statistic support. But I cannot find the tree in github. Is this my access issue or the tree has been removed? I also can not access that branch. Seems it was removed. The functionality should however be in the main branch. I just tried an old statistics file I still had from development phase of VVC. It was generate using that extension of VTM (also still part of VTM far as I know, but guarded by compiler macro if I remember correctly). YUView displayed it without issue. My YUView version is 2.13
