Child does not go hungry or lose too much happiness as long as you go to sleep before the time where he/she becomes hungry, and go to work for two shifts as soon as you wake up to get back and pick them up on time. After picking them up, you can fit one or two play cycles in before going to bed, ensuring that the child does not begin to get hungry. Then, you go to work again, and get back and sleep again.

My child wasn't hungry for a couple of weeks, and I had more than enough money to pay rent and keep my pantry stocked for nobody in particular, because my child and I need no sustenance but the souls of our enemies.

Edit: pictured is a free day after only working and sleeping for about a month
