User.paid returns true but subscription status is cancelled

I was reading the docs and trying to find out why this happens but I couldn't understand it. I have a if statement that tests whether user.paid is true or false. In test mode, I changed the subscription status of my user to cancelled, but user.paid still returns true.

Any ideas?

Is that code in the background file or a popup or a content script?

I got same in dev.

I guess this is because of : even though you force unsubscribe state, the current month still is considered paid so it will be marked as false only as of the next month's day. (If I'm right)
In prod that's ok, in dev, unsubscribe should have forced-state be effective immediately.

Hm, I'm not able to reproduce what you're seeing. I tested and it worked fine. Would you be able to make a minimal repository and instructions that I can run precisely to reproduce the issue?

I'm having this issue currently. I'd like to force a "Canceled" status, but instead it's returning true as if I'm still within the month of paid benefits.

It'd be great to have a "Canceled - Pending" & the "Canceled" option to test all.

i.e. - else if (user.subscriptionCancelAt && user.subscriptionCancelAt < new Date()) {
console.log("Your subscription will cancel soon.")
} else if (user.subscriptionStatus === 'canceled') {
console.log("We hope you enjoyed your subscription!")

@connallykendrick We do have this! You can just click the normal "cancel" button that your users would see. You can also manually set canceled status in dev mode.

No problem. And yeah, I think it's an easy mistake to make and I believe I already made it even clearer in the next unreleased version that I've been testing.
