You'll probably get this from a line image, so

Find line in file (use headers for this, first fix Make HDR file for deterministic outputs #54 )
Calculate distance along line
get conductivity from the row
get nu from the same row if needed

I think is all fixed by this commit and the previous few 7b9fc00, 8272059
