Summary

Installed EarTrumped 2.3.0.0 from Microsoft Store and WinGet, then tried 2.3.0.18 using the appinstaller from the README, same problem.

The app starts, the icon appears in the tray area, but the tooltip and icon stay frozen at whatever the volume status was when it was started, and it doesn't react either to left or right clicking on the icon, or to the volume being changed with the volume keys. It just stays there doing nothing and can only be stopped by killing the process.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times while removing all leftover files inbetween, tried restarting my computer.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install EarTrumpet
  2. Start EarTrumpet
  3. Try to use EarTrumpet

EarTrumpet version

2.3.0.18

Windows version

10.0.19045.4046

Additional information

Nothing in the Event Viewer. I'd give more info if I could but there doesn't seem to be any log file anywhere.

Strange, can you install a developer build (eartrumpet.app) and perform these steps?

  • Hold the LEFT ALT key on your keyboard and launch EarTrumpet. You can let go of the key when you see the EarTrumpet icon or after about 5 seconds.
  • In File Explorer, type %temp% and press ENTER.
  • Retrieve EarTrumpetTrace.log and share that with us here or email it to team@eartrumpet.app.

Thanks!

@CalbertAmu If you're seeing this too, can you perform the steps above?
