As nicely human rightsy/feminist as some of the messages above may sound, Daniel Pocock's tirades against FSFE and Debian are fueled by his own expulsion from both organizations. Debian did not make up any claims about Appelbaum, as is implied.

@M-i-k-o-t-o not having any public contributions here on Github I am wondering if this is another account operated by Daniel. For a bit of context around Daniel's expulsion from Debian: https://hartmans.livejournal.com/100209.html
For more questions feel free to email the Debian project leader or people at FSFE.

PS: Quoting a Reddit called "Stallman was right" is quite a bit of a stretch.

Hi debian-private,

I am not Pocock, I did not even know that he existed until today actually, I learned about him by searching for "Appelbaum" in https://hn.algolia.com/ and sorting by date, there https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24279978 was the second post. I do not have any contributions (other than commenting on issues) because I am against github (due to its relation to ICE and its license) but even if I was Pocock I do not think that it would be relevant to the topic at hand.

This article says nothing about Appelbaum.

For more questions feel free to email the Debian project leader or people at FSFE.

What if we are interested in openness instead (along with giving him the opportunity to respond)? I do not think that private emails would help with that.

@M-i-k-o-t-o thanks for making it clear! Me, on the other hand, I am not debian-private.
The article from Sam Hartmann just explains some of the behavior by which Daniel Pocock got himself out of Debian.

I personally am not interested in providing more openness to abusers. Good luck with that.

I am aware of most / all of the above links. I haven't decided whether to include any of his claims.
