Can the Elgg Wire be made user friendly and less confusing?

The wire is a great tool. However, reading and replying to statuses has almost evolved into a normal usage pattern across all social webs - in a way that is similar to hypewall #10553
However, it seems like that is stagnated - so I make a Feature and Usability request to update the Wire for the next Elgg versions [compatible with php 7.4 and php 8x] so that at least text based posting of status or "wire messages" and replies to it becomes simple and easily understood. This is a request and by no means nagging/pressurizing the devs. I am not asking for any other fancy frills but ability to add blog or file at this same area will be an unified advantage.
