task bar icon flashes orange when aero peek is enabled

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable the "Show tab thumbnail previews/aero peek (Buggy)" option
2. Open a chat window
3. Click the Pidgin task bar icon and hover over the chat window.
4. It begins to flash orange as if you have received a new message.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
As there were no messages, I expected the task bar button not to flash orange. 
The mere act of hovering over a chat window caused it to start flashing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Pidgin 2.10.0 (libpurple 2.10.0)

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

This doesn't reproduce if I disable tabbed chat windows.
