I own two AOR AR 3000A old fashioned scanners. I have cables I can use to connect these fine instruments to my laptop computer via usb ports. Is there any way to get your Ear to Oak / RTLSDR-Scanner software up and running with my scanner radios? I am especially interested in Public Safety Trunking (digital reception in general).

There is a German guy here with win95 s/w for communicating with the ar-3000a.
Perhaps you can convince him to release the communication protocol.
I'm keen to chat to this unit also.

Actually page 49 of the operators manual indicated the serial tty protocol for communicating with the device. The protocol for the AR-3000 is slightly different apparently.

Another approach is to use Scancat Gold (v8.5 is last one made 2011). Main problem is it only runs on win95/98 and apparently not in Win7/10. however maybe linux and wine might work ??
