Could you do the same as with cds to have a multiplier, with associated SE and DF? Or is this too much of a pain?

I was thinking that this would only be for fixed values to change effort, but you've highlighted an important point: the word multiplier means something to people doing a (M)CDS analysis. I'll think of a better name!
