Select sensible metrics relating to education. Anyone with domain knowledge (assessment, spending, policy, etc.), please chime in!

Off-the-cuff thoughts about possible categories/buckets:

Educational attainment
Achievement & assessment
Public spending
Enrollment
Facilities
Higher education
Curricular availability (electives, languages, Advanced Placement)
Extracurricular activities
State/city-level breakdown

I spoke to a graduate student who had done extensive study on this. Some other metrics that could be included are :

Demographics
Household income
Parent's education level
Distance from school
Teacher to student ratio
Single parent / two parents household
Ethnicity
