On a fresh install, I selected Crio and made it my active theme, and have the Easy SEO plugin installed (no boldgrid editor plugin, so it's the default wp block editor now. The Easy SEO metabox is displayed under the post, and has styles applied from Crio which make the menu unreadable:

If i deactivate Crio, and use a wordpress theme, I am able to see the controls better:
