Some components may want to have an offset applied to them relative to their parent Entity. Many won't. The option should be enabled somehow that is lightweight and ideally minimizes memory footprint/data duplication as much as possible.
Just slapping a transform onto each transformable proxy was the first idea, but with the amount of potential components in more complicated systems that may be too excessive considering how often it may be used.
