What workfow do you want to improve?

Enabling a profile when a specific audio device is connected.

How to make it better?

Provide a trigger that fires based on when a specified audio device is connected.

Any alternative?

Currently using the 'Force Profile' trigger, but it obviously fails with an error when it triggers while the selected device is not connected.

Additional context

I have a pair of wireless headphones that expose two playback outputs (game and chat) to support on-device chat mix. However, Windows refuses to remember that the game output is the default for audio, and every time they connect it chooses the chat output as default for both audio and communications.

Using SoundSwitch with the 'Force Profile' trigger is a decent workaround, but it would be fantastic if I could have it only trigger my profile when the playback device is first connected.

I actually do have a suggestion regarding this. I also have an Arctis series headset, Arctis 5 to be exact, and it does have that Chat-Mix feature. But I don't bother using the Chat playback output and disabled it in the Sound window setting; I only use the Game playback output. So perhaps this can be a solution for you.

Unfortunately I frequently use the chat mix feature, so this isn't an option for me.
