This is gonna be a popular one over time.

Some sort of robust, non-spammy, integration with external status service(s).

With it external facing, the big thing to get right is the operator UX here. We want it easy to do but no footguns.

This feels like another indicator we probably should expand eventing (#2) for configurable modularity.
