I'm sorry, but manually changing device class does not work.

Home assistant configuration.yaml:

sonoff:
devices:
1001f11xxx:
device_class: shutter

I also tried changing the class to fan or light. it works.

The device is switched to motor mode in ewelink app.

What am I doing wrong?

There is no Cover mode support for this model. I do not plan to do it. You can do it yourself
