cpuCount = subprocess.check_output("lscpu | grep 'CPU(s):' | head -1 | grep -o -E '[0-9]+' | tr -d '\n'", shell=True, text=True)

I think Python >=3.7 support text parameter in subprocess.check_output. Please consider adding this information to the wiki.
