  • Co-working/Brainstorming sessions to identify the different dimensions of the future of the tool we need to investigate
  • Detangle future of tool and future of "U.S. Data Federation"
  • Understand what a home for the tool in the D&A portfolio could look like
  • Sketch a few models for sustainment

For the future of the U.S. Data Federation (not the tool), wondering if the model of TTS Working Groups or Guilds could be one model. There is already an existing framework for this, and a precedent within TTS for this kind of project governance.

Might it have a home within the Data Services Guild? Or do you think it would warrant its own group?

That's a definite possibility. I think it would be good to understand more broadly if guilds maintain projects in this way, or if there are plans to. Most guilds have some artifacts that they continually maintain - like the method cards and other guides. Might this be something that a guild could take on for longer-term maintenance / stewardship?
