Hi,

How do we make sure that doesn't happen again?

1. By specifying the order that you want to see the tasks in, to override the default sort order. This is all documented in Sorting. You can read about the 'Default sort order' - and the options for providing your own sort order.
2. If you find an order you like and want to use for all your searches, you can put it in your Global Query to save having to apply it in every search.
