Appearance settings lost after browser cache clear #1858

Description

Changed settings for

  • Language
  • Theme

are not saved after a browser cache clear.

👟 Reproduction steps

  1. Login into Uptime Kuma
  2. Go to /settings/appearance
  3. Change language
  4. Change theme to dark
  5. Logout
  6. Clear browser cache / Open a private surfing window
  7. Re login
  8. theme is changed back to Auto / Language is changed back to English

👀 Expected behavior

This settings should be saved into the database.

Appearance settings lost after browser cache clear.

Yes, they are currently browser only settings.

is it possible to set it in docker-compose as a variable?

I too was looking why my Theme was resetting, either an env. variable to change the setting or default to the Dark theme instead

For some reason only my language setting got reset after refresh or when navigate to status page, but other appearance settings were not. Should I raise a separate issue instead?

@JasonHK #4691 has already been fixed by #4692
We have not yet done a new release with this #4692 and #4700
