Was wondering if it was possible, is it working ? If so, you just have to connect CANH/CANL lines from OBD adapter directly to CANH/CANL from ECU, that will bypass the gateway. You may need ECU pinouts, though |

When you try to WRITE data to ECU, CGW makes an echo with a part of DDT4ALL write command. So the real command newer arrives to ECU correctly. If you connect CAN Lines directly to BCM then CGW will not work - because you are at internal network. and YES, I TRIED- WORKED. I tried because I sniffed the traffic and saw what CGW do and found this solution. BCM is located under left - down of steering wheel. I dont rebember the pin out but its easy to locate. |

Yes, with that connection you will join internal can network so you can communicate with all other ecu's as well. I said BCM can because it the easiest location to join internal can network. |

Guys, as I said before, you can WRITE parameters to Clio 5 with proper
connection - directly to bcm can lines. I tested many times.

Pay no attention to that as such , it just means theres like 1508 loaded ecus from the database.

Thanks @KarelSvo @AndyIreland @bokkoman ... the new Bluetooth dongle I ordered seems to work fine! Now to find a garage that's going to be nice enough to unlock the ECU ;-) One last question. I prefer km/L over L/100km. For the Clio, would changing Navigation > A-IVI v1.10 > System Information $DAB1 > default_distance_fuel_consumption_unit do the trick, or do I need to be somewhere else in the interface?

Sorry for asking, but i have a problem. I performed the same guide, selected the car (CLIO V)>Navigation>1.10 and set up all the values about car play etc. Now the wifi of the car works but car play not. If now i go to do an ecu scan says "ECU[Navigation] No relevant ECU file found" My software version is: 283C34777R |

if its not been updating over the air (OTA) you may need to talk to your local Renault Service department to initiate the update(s) |

Yeah. I'm using the exact same DDT4All 5.5.0 ALL CARS Edition as in the screenshot above. Scanning 'ALL' ECU or specifically 'CLIO V' ECU returns absolutely nothing in the field marked with 4) above. So I'm just going to assume the cable is not compatible and I need to find a better one. Do those blue ELM327 Bluetooth dongles work properly? |

yes that could be it , maybe your cable (USB ELM327 I am predicting?) hasnt got the required PIC18F25K80 chip in it. those blue (transparent see thru is it?) bluetooth ones I think you are talking of - in my experience are the cheap 'China' clone ELM327 in my experience , but you might get a good one maybe - how about looking for a genuine konwei bluetooth one with a PIC18F25K80chip in it or one like mine which is a |

actually come to think about it I could have read about something about the gateway being able to be bypassed but some update (either OTA or applied by CLIP by Renault Garage) after that was applied it blocked applying changes on the easylink ECU parameters - something like that. My memory is not the best some times. |

yes , I know that its locked again after the engine switched off, but apart from that I heard that even with bypassing the gateway (wiring directly up to back of BCM at the wiring connector) is that wireless apple carplay could no longer be activated after this particular software update |

I bought the renault physical token and the SGW Unlocking software, what is the cheapest but tried VCI tool to be used, I don't want to buy bosch tool as it is very expensive. |

I couldn't find any instructions on how to do the bypass following your link. Could it be that you sent the wrong link? I read somewhere att unplugging the connector made the car unable to start which scarred me |

Ahh. But that's not a proper bypass, right? As in, you can't leave it connected forever -- you can only connect it when you want to actually bypass the CGW. I'm not sure what is a proper bypass. That's why I'm here. Anyways my unit (autel) offered a token for sgw. I payed 9 dollar and unlocked it. Im not sure how long it was unlocked but i managed to code a second key to my clio 5. I'll probably pay another 9 dollar an do the rest of the things i plan on doing (camera, start stop delete etc). |

I can connect, read all the values but I cannot change any of them, i've heard it is also the case for Captur 2, both using Easy link systems. Is there a work in progress? Anything I can try? Thanks!
