Please add your requests and suggestions for lab meetings on 7, 21, 28 November and 12 December 😄

Some ideas to start us off:

  • Synchronising contributing guidelines across Whitakerlab projects
  • An intro to Jupyter book (@emdupre?)
  • An intro to visualisation in python (@sparkler0323?)
  • An intro to the brain imaging data structure (@KirstieJane?)
  • Designing & delivering an effective talk
  • Book club (we all read a book and discuss it)
  • Open leadership cohort (@malvikasharan & @yochannah?)

But these are just to prompt you - I'd love for the meetings to cover topics that you think are really useful. Maybe go through the previous lab meeting notes and pull out discussions that you'd like to have a greater discussion on?

Thank you for your ideas! ✨

Not managing to read as many books as there are book clubs I'd like to join, but maybe we can read a paper together? I think people mentioned good reads in the notes, maybe we can pick one of them. And pick up a few topics from there would be good, just as I would think some reflection a few weeks later might be good.

7 November: Georgia - all project discussion of how we can each contribute to the other projects in the lab
21 November: Kirstie - "What even is impact?" - this might end up being a group viewing of interesting talks from SpotOn London, or an open discussion of the very many definitions of impact. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/spoton-london-2019-communicating-research-for-societal-impact-tickets-67002112121
28 November: Yo - self care and taking care of your community
12 December: Ang - vizualisation - please all bring a figure you like - Ang to lead discussion on how to make beautiful figures for scientific papers (and beyond)
