Roadmap

This issue is our roadmap for the BrainsForPublication project.

Our goal: Make neuroimaging publications more beautiful while promoting best practices for reproducible research.

The roadmap is created as an issue as it is very likely to change rapidly please liberally comment/suggest edits for the steps we need to take before, during and after the 2016 OHBM hackathon.

Document all beautiful visualisations & provide code where appropriate

• Nii --> VTK --> Render (issue NII->VTK->Render #1 submitted by @cMadan)
• Activation maps using pysurfer (issue Activation maps using pysurfer #5 suggested by @chrisfilo in the #brains4publication Slack channel)
• Online rendering of statisical maps in NeuroVault (issue Online rendering of statisical maps in NeuroVault #6 suggested by @chrisfilo in the #brains4publication Slack channel)

• Overlaying nodal network characteristics onto freesurfer mappings (*.annot) (issue Overlaying nodal network characteristics onto freesurfer mappings (*.annot) #8 submitted by @rb643)
• Multiple slices with activation (issue Multiple slices with activation #10 suggested by @roscha in the #brains4publication Slack channel)
• Alluvial diagrams (issue Alluvial diagrams #9 submitted by @rb643)

Promote the project within and beyond the hackathon

• Currently using the BrainHack Slack group and within that the #brains4publication channel.

Write GigaScience report to accompany project

Stretch goals

• Create interactive plots in plotly (issue Create interactive plots in plotly #4 suggested by @pbellec in the #brains4publication Slack channel)
