Developer Student Clubs OMG - Tweets Contest - Terms and Conditions

Interested in being a part of the Developer Student Clubs OMG - Tweets Contest? We are happy to have you onboard, but before you start your journey towards the amazing gifts we have for you, here are a few pointers to keep in mind -

General Contest Rules:

  1. The contest runs from 00:00 IST (GMT +5:30) of 23rd June, 2020 to 23:59 IST (GMT +5:30) of 29th June, 2020 strictly on the Twitter platform. Any entries made out of this duration or any other platform will be ignored. However, any discoverable breach of Content Guidelines even outside this duration or platform will be equally accounted and dealt with as mentioned in the guidelines.

  2. The winners of the contest will be announced on 7th July, 2020. However, this date is subject to change without prior information based on the volume of participation in the contest or other unavoidable circumstances which the organizers of the contest are not liable to disclose. All updates for any such change will be notified over the OMG Twitter channel.

  3. Disbursement of prizes as mentioned in the Prizes section will be processed after the announcement of winners, collection of requisite details and verification of eligibility of winners. All communication will be done over OMG Twitter channel and official email hello@dscomg.com.

  4. To be eligible for the giveaway, you need to be a citizen of India between the entire event duration and till the time you receive any giveaway prizes if you are eligible to win them as per rules mentioned in the Contest Winning Criteria.

  5. You are not allowed to hire/pay/provide an incentive to anyone for participating on your behalf in the contest.

  6. You are not bound legally by your employer to not receive giveaways.

  7. Organizers reserve the right to cancel this contest at any moment due to unforeseeable events. Decisions made by organizers will be final and non-debatable.

Contest Winning Criteria:

We’ll be using automated tools to collect all tweets made with the official hashtag #dscomg within the duration of the event on the Twitter platform. We’ll then subject the tweets to the compliance of the Content Guidelines and the following criteria -

  1. All entrants start with a Score of 0.
  2. Score incremented by 1 for each eligible unique tweet content.
  3. Score incremented by 1 for each “retweet with comment” with unique comment.
  4. Score incremented by 1 for each “retweet” of tweet carrying hashtag #dscomg.

The final rank list will list the top 16 entries in descending order of total score obtained.

Prizes:

The prizes allotted to winning entries will be -

  1. Top 1 winner - 1 Google Play voucher worth INR 1000 only.
  2. Next 5 winners - 1 Google Play voucher worth INR 250 only.
  3. Next 10 winners - 1 Google Play voucher worth INR 100 only.

Content Guidelines:

DOs -

  1. Use the event hashtag #dscomg anywhere in the tweet. Tweets not containing this hashtag will not be considered as part of the contest and will be ignored.

  2. Usage of topics and content relevant to OMG

    a. Creating tweets with content that is strongly related to OMG using hashtags which relate to a technology-focused event b. Talk only about the event or the happenings within the event. Use related hashtags and tag people only related to the event in any capacity of speakers/organizers/viewers or sponsors.

  3. Follow the Twitter Rules

    a. Follow the platform rules of Twitter - https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/twitter-rules

    b. Read and understand Twitter Search best practices - https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/twitter-search-policies

  4. Comply with laws and regulations of India

    a. Read and understand Indian Cyber laws - https://meity.gov.in/content/cyber-laws

    b. In a gist - do not post any content which might be taken as demeaning by any section of the society, targets any specific person, is hate speech or tries to make commentary on any social or political event, people, place or entity.

  5. Maintain professional language - use kind and professionally acceptable language. Usage of derogatory terms or ‘slangs’ in any language in any of your entries, either intended or unintended manner shall be flagged and all entries from you will be rejected.

DO NOTs -

  1. Creation of multiple accounts - if you create a lot of accounts in order to enter a contest more than once, you’re liable to get all of your accounts suspended as per Twitter Guidelines Anyone found to use multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible.

  2. Posting the same Tweet repeatedly - posting duplicate or near-duplicate content is a violation of the Twitter Rules and jeopardizes search quality. Make sure you have at least 50% original tweets. If you only retweet massively, your account will automatically be filtered out of the search by Twitter and we won’t be able to find your tweets.
