you should need to see this:-

There is no automatic page generator button in GitHub anymore, I am not able to find it in any of my repos. GitHub now uses Jekyll to make the pages.

The situation is am taking a course on HTML,CSS AND JAVASCRIPT on cousera and it got to github set up where you go to the automatic page generator which is no longer available on Github.

Github has been updated and WE want to know what the automatic page generator has been replaced with and how to navigate it

Create a Repository:

Go to GitHub and log in.
Click on the + icon at the top-right corner and select "New repository."
Name your repository with the format yourusername.github.io. Make sure it's a public repository.
Initialize the Repository:

You can initialize the repository with a README file by checking the "Initialize this repository with a README" option.
Optionally, you can add a .gitignore and a license.
Enable GitHub Pages:

Navigate to the repository's "Settings" tab.
Scroll down to the "Pages" section (it's usually under the "Code and automation" category on the left sidebar).
In the "Source" section, select the branch you want to use for GitHub Pages (typically, main or master). You can leave the directory as /root.
Use the Automatic Page Generator:

GitHub removed the inbuilt automatic page generator in 2019. However, you can use Jekyll, a static site generator that's supported by GitHub Pages.
If you want a simple setup, GitHub offers pre-made themes that you can use directly.
Set Up Jekyll or Use a Theme:

To use a pre-made theme, go to the "Settings" tab of your repository.
Scroll down to the "Pages" section and select a theme from the "Theme Chooser."
Customize Your Site:

To customize further, you can clone your repository to your local machine:
