Describe the bug
On Word 2007, using the latest 4.0 beta9h release (as well as an older version from August 2022, probably downloaded from Google fonts), certain fonts are not reproduced when saving as a PDF. Inter variable works, as does bolding Inter variable, but Inter black, medium, or others do not reproduce when translated to PDF, and instead divert to regular Inter, even if the fonts are embedded in the options and the PDF save options are set to "bitmap if not embedded". Funnily enough, to test this I downloaded a free trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (I can't believe pay that much for this junk) and: 1. it wouldn't convert my Word 2007 .docx file, saying it was corrupted, despite being fine, so I 2. used the Word-saved PDF in Acrobat to edit it directly, but 3. whereas it could not OCR the rest of my document and converted all paragraphs (using 11pt type Satoshi) into images, the only fonts it did recognize and allow me to edit were the Inter fonts, which were also available in the fonts for Adobe.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Use Inter Black in Word 2007 (and possibly other versions from what I'm seeing online);
Save as PDF using Word's built-in PDF save option with fonts embed and "bitmap if not embedded" selected in the save options;
Try to fix and fail??
Expected behavior
Inter Black appears in the PDF the same way it does in Word 2007.

Not sure what else but will answer questions.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
Word 2007 does not support variable fonts.
Un-install the variable font as it my have name conflicts with the static fonts.
The static fonts alone should work.
